When the shopper puts the item back on the shelf, it comes out of their virtual cart. The Just Walk Out technology determines “who took what” from the store when a shopper takes something off the shelf, it’s added to their virtual cart. Kelly said there will also be a large area that prepares food and meals on the spot such as pizza and sandwiches. “We’ll also have the people who pick and pack customer orders, there will be order ahead (service).” “The folks at the store will have the customer service area, there will be (employees) stocking shelves and there will be cashiers too,” he said. Kelly said the store will run a little bit like a traditional grocery store, but also will have the Just Walk Out technology, which gives customers the option to skip the checkout line. It is the second Amazon Fresh store in Pennsylvania, they have another store in Warrington, Bucks County. ![]()
